Chair of Women's ServicesDr. Welsh attended SUNY Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, NY where she also did her OBGYN residency. Her career started at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, New York where she held many titles including medical director for Title X family planning department, the assistant residency director as well as a fellow at the NYC Health and Hospitals IMSAL Simulation Center. In Suffolk County, Long Island she became the Network Director of Women’s Health. She provided support as a leader in New York City, Hudson Valley, and Suffolk County leading 16 different practices and over 40 providers. She was part of the leadership of the OB/GYN department at Southshore University Hospital. During all these leaderships roles she also remained studious. She went on to complete a master’s in public health from Independence University while at Lincoln Hospital, in 2019 she added a certification for Physician Executives, and in 2021 she became certified in Diversity and Inclusion.
Dr. Welsh transitioned her leadership talents as the Chair of Women’s Health for The Valley Medical System in 2021. Here she has streamlined 6 different practices under one umbrella, and introduced several safety initiatives. You can catch Dr. Welsh at various speaking events speaking about the state of Black Maternal Health. She remains steadfast in her goal to provide excellent care for all women and to be a strong physician advocate. |
